Croacia se enfrentará a Inglaterrra en la semifinal del próximo miércoles, en el estadio Luzhniki de Moscú, tras imponerse por 3-4 a Rusia en la tanda de penaltis de un partido que concluyó con empate a dos.
Tras concluir empatados a un gol (con goles de Denis Cheryshev y Andrej Kramaric) los primeros 90 minutos, los tantos de Domagoj Vida y Mario Fernandes en la prórroga, llevaron la definición a una tanda de penaltis en la que fallaron Fedor Smolov y Mario Fernandes, por Rusia, y Kovacic por Croacia. Ivan Rakitic marcó el definitivo.
